Infantry: -----------Infantry are very useful in case of defense. Regardless of how big your army is, without infantry you can be defeated fast. You should always aim to have between 500 and 1000 from each type of infantry. Axeman: He is good for defense and as cannon fodder. Because its speed is 10 you can use it with cavalry archers and light cavalry in the future for the fastest attacks. Pikeman: He is good for defense and when you increase his attack to level 5 then he can be deadly when cavalry attacks you. They can also be used as cannon feed because his speed is 10 so with cavalry archer and light cavalry you can do the fastest attacks possible. Swordsman: He is good in defense and as cannon fodder. Maceman: He is good in defense and as cannon fodder. Cavalry: ----------- Quick walker: Those creatures are good for spying and the more you get the safer you are against spying. Also when you have hospitals you can use them to scavenge. The best way to use them is to send 1 quickwalker after another in waves. The idea here is that they scavenge and heal soldiers and that those soldiers will bring back resources for you. Light Cavalry: They are one of the best units around for fast attacks against castles without a wall. They have huge cargo carriage and are very fast for scavenging. They can die fast though so increase their defense level to 10 as soon as possible. Heavy Cavalry: They are slower then light cavalry but they do big damage in battles also there defense is bigger then light cavalry but still you need also to increase there defense to 10 because they take some time before they get trained again. Cavalry Archer: Perfect for attacking walls and making quick profit when used with light cavalry and axemen/pikemen. All these units are fast so you can have some very quick attacks. Increase their offense to 10 and then start with their defense. Archers: ----------- Shortbowman: You will earn 200 shortbowman at the start of the game. Use these to attack undefended castles (No wall or army) to earn resources early in the game. Keep using these units over and over to earn free resources. Otherwise, they are relatively useless unit and can act as canon fodder. You can have 500 easily just to increase your defense line, but honestly, you are better off to get Longbows as soon as possible. Longbowman: These are the first real units that you can make that will do some damage to walls and units. They have 2 good points. Firstly they are strong vs cavalry and secondly they are faster then crossbowman. Also 1st increase attack level then start with defense. You need about 500 till you reach crossbowman train only that. Crossbowman: These archers are important for smashing down walls. They aren’t as quick as Longbows, but they are cheaper to produce. Aim to have 1500 of these as early as possible. Also increase their offensive skill first then their defensive.
Wizards: ----------- Arcanist: These are deadly wizards against walls and are very strong. Increase their offense to 5 and then their defense to level 5. You need around 250 to help you in any future attacks. Be careful as they are very slow. Only send them in battles that your army will face another army. Fireslinger: Only real damage that they can make is when you send a large number they have the chance to destroy enemy buildings. Also increase offense to level 5 before you increase the defense. Stormcaller: Only real damage that they can make is when you send a large number they have the chance to destroy enemy buildings. They are stronger then fireslinger in destroying buildings. Also increase offense to level 5 before the defense. Special units are unique to your race. Make sure that you read about them in Help. Nobelman: This unit lets you capture other castles. He is very slow and the maximum you need is 5, but they are very expensive and take a long time to make. With 1 nobelman you can decrease the loyality from 300 to 600 per hit but you need to keep hitting non stop or the loyalty of the enemy fort will increase again. Make sure that you put them in attacking cities with walls in the 4th row or else if they die then you wasted a lot of resources and time.
